about your teacher
Amrit Dev (Brandon)
Brandon’s first experience with Kundalini Yoga was through the Kundalini Beginner’s Series at the very first Yoga Yoga location. He had no previous experience and no idea what to expect, even sitting in “easy pose” was hard, but Sat Kriya in that first class gave him a tingly rush of energy. The gong took him out of his body and long deep breathing changed his life outside of class. The mantras seemed so familiar, like he remembered them from another lifetime, so he kept coming back and “easy pose” got easier. After 5 years of practicing Kundalini Yoga, Brandon took Yoga Yoga’s 200-hour Kundalini Yoga Training. He then began teaching at the Community Yoga Center in San Marcos and at Yoga Yoga in 2011. Brandon has begun his journey towards his 500 hour Kundalini Yoga Certification by studying with Leslie Kaminoff and Mehtab and he has even taken a Kundalini Mentorship.
Students can expect a straight-up “Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan” class including a challenging but accessible combination of Kundalini Kriyas and Kundalini Meditations when coming to his classes. Brandon uses sound and mantra in most of his classes and you can expect to “be gonged” Brandon carries his own gong in his trunk so you can definitely count on the gong being there!
