The first time that I heard a Tibetan Singing Bowl, the sound enveloped me. The undertones gradually changed into undulating overtones. I began to want to know more about the Tibetan/ Himalayan singing bowls, so I found Jodie Roberts, a Shaman and sound healer, and started studying with her. I acquired bowls of my own and began learning how to play. Eventually I began studying with Suren Shestha a Tibetan sound healer from Boulder, CO, using techniques that were commonly used hundreds of years ago. After some time with Suren I decided to continue studying, practicing and going to trainings and workshops in England and Nebraska. I like to say that I am always a student learning more all the time.

I truly cannot express enough how healing the sounds of these instruments are. Because of the power of these healing tools, I use sound in all my classes and do private sessions at my home, incorporating gongs, chimes, drums, conch horns, rattlers and flutes in sound concerts.

There are so many benefits of Tibetan Singing Bowls:

 • Reduce stress and anxiety significantly

 • Lower anger and blood pressure

 • Improve circulation and increases blood flow

 • Deep relaxation and pain relief

 • Chakra balancing

 • Increase mental and emotional clarity

 • Promote stillness, happiness and well being. Stimulate the immune system.

 • Aid the immune system and fibromyalgia and psoriasis in individuals that meditate

You can experience the healing sounds of the singing bowls with me at Yoga Yoga in my upcoming Yoga Plus event Sound Therapy and Meditation Concert or learn how to play the Himalayan Bowls yourself with me in my Himalayan Chakra Singing Bowl Therapy & Techniques series!

Singing Bowl is amazing thing. Usually people love it when they hear the sound it regardless of any note. Bigger the bowl deeper the sound and penitrates our mind. It helps better for mediatation also. Larger bowls are very hard to find online. You can find good selections of larger singing bowls at www.singing-bowls.net

I just recently purchased one, i know exactly what you mean about feeling the vibrations as i love looking deep into these types of things to find truth in things taken for granted.

In quantum physics everything is just energy at its smallest level, our consiousness is projected to us with ourselves working as a reciever of a divine frequency within the pineal as symbolized in various manmade religions as the pinecone.

Negative and Positive vibrations of our actions and intentions coincide with the idea of karma, time being circular by nature and only linear by human perception and logically explained as cause and effect.

Singing Bowls in my opinion work to stimulate, balance and purify your senses, pineal frequency and chakras by sending off neutral vibrations to flush your auric field along with any negative vibrations that are stealing your clarity of thought.

The tone working as a form of mental reboot to still you in the moment so you can examine your thoughts and discover your inner self through focused intention and practice.

Just as all things are energy that are of this world, so are thoughts and beliefs, the heart gives off its own vibrations with disregard to your worldy perceptions. This is why you always hear so much about positive perception of life being advertised and spoke about, its symbolic to the true nature of existence and how you find your truth.

I had my first reiki session earlier this year and it was the first time the singing bowls were introduced to me, albeit I didn't know that's what I was listening to.

The sounds penetrated through my body. I've never heard anything like it before and I didn't know how to feel about it. All I knew was that I wanted to know more; it was mysterious.

I came to Nepal for a yoga training and again it was introduced at the end of our class during meditation. I knew that sound! Again, the vibrations penetrated deep into my body. Finally, I opened my eyes and saw they were bowls being played.

So when I went into Bhaktapur, there were many vendors selling these. I was led into a shop for higher quality bowls and she put several on my hand, but there was one that was special and I could the energy/vibrations transfer into my heart. That feeling lasted the entire evening. I'm such a believer in the benefits of these bowls.

Ya this is nice and all but it doesn't prove anything... how does it do those things? If I came up to you and said do this it will aid your blood pressure etc, I've done nothing but make claims. I didn't actually educate you on the why and how's...

Isn't it amazing how people remember the first time they heard a singing bowl? I remember too and it was in 1990. The benefits you mention show how great singing bowls are for general wellness, mindfulness but also for serious obstacles like PTSD. I also hear from a lot of parents who use them to help kids fall to sleep. I wrote about this in The Singing Bowl Book. I have a lot of free info, sound clips and videos at http://www.himalayanbowls.com

Sound therapy was one of the best things I've ever experienced! Through the regular use of sound combined with intention we may begin to vibrate faster at a cellular or molecular level. This what is meant by "raise your frequency". The higher rate of vibration creates larger spaces between the cells, making us less dense, and preventing negative or intrusive energies from sticking to us easily.

The first time when I felt the vibration of Singing Bowls, I had no idea what was it exactly. Then the person told me about it, its uses and history. I was already excited to buy one so I bought it; my first singing bowls. I am still a learner but I know about singing bowls quite a little. I have them in my collections too.

Thank you for your post.
