Ashtanga Yoga: Modifications and Injury Prevention with Rachel

In this workshop, we will investigate the origins of yoga-related injuries. We will begin to learn to work with pre-existing injuries and avoid common postural pitfalls in this workshop designed for beginner to advanced Ashtanga students.  We will learn to work with these issues as opposed to against them and discuss how to modify behaviors and attitudes for a safer experience in led classes or at home.

Prenatal for Partners with Alice

Kundalini Yoga and the Immune System with Harimandir

In this workshop, we will explore how our immune system can help us recover not only from illness but also feelings of anger, self-defeat and blame. Working through these emotions we can begin to heal. The immune system interacts with the glandular system, central nervous system and our emotional body. We will be experiencing Kriyas or sets of exercises as well as meditation to boost the immune system. Come and join us as we take a journey to create light, energy, and hopefulness. Please wear a head covering for this workshop.

A Viniyoga Approach to a Healthy Upper Back, Neck and Shoulders with Marilyn

This workshop contains educational content and therapeutic practices for those who are suffering from chronic to occasional upper back, neck and shoulder pain or for those who just want to strengthen this area to avoid future problems.  The material is based upon the viniyoga teachings of Gary Kraftsow and designed for all levels of yoga practitioners, even beginners.  Workshop goals will include increasing self awareness, improving alignment of one's structure, and increasing circulation throughout the body.

Pavanmuktasana, or “joint freeing”, is a dynamic practice for the purpose of limbering the joints, enhancing range of motion, and freeing subtle energy flows (nadis) in the body. These simple, gentle and comfortable exercises are a powerful practice on their own as well as an ideal preparation for asana practice. In this workshop we will experience a series of pavanmukasana exercises to limber all of the joints, stimulate the digestive system and open the flow of energy throughout the body. Suitable for everyone.

Yoga Nidra is the practice of Yogic Sleep, a systematic method of inducing complete physical, mental and emotional relaxation, while maintaining awareness at the deeper levels. It is much more than deep relaxation or guided meditation; it is a total experience that touches and awakens all parts of your being. Join us as we experience Yoga Nidra and learn the benefits of a Yogic Sleep. All levels are welcome. There is no need to bring a mat, but if you have yoga blankets or props of your own feel free to bring them.
