Originally from Texas, Cyndi (Hanspreet Kaur) has lived everywhere from Idaho to Deutschland and has happily made Austin her home since 2005. When Cyndi moved here, she found herself surrounded by bright, energetic people who raved about how yoga affected their lives.

After several months of practicing Kundalini and Hatha Yoga at home, Cyndi signed up for an Ashtanga Beginners Series before she found her way into one of Siri Bahadur’s Kundalini classes. Not long after that, she signed up for teacher training. Cyndi has completed Yoga Yoga’s Level 1 Kundalini Yoga Teacher Training and continues her training through the Level 2 Kundalini modules as well as the Advanced Studies program. She has studied with recognized teachers Gurucharan, Ek Ong Kar Kaur Khalsa, and Guru Dev Singh, but is most influenced by Yoga Yoga’s own Siri Bahadur, Mehtab, and Guru Karam. When searching for inspiration in her classes or her practice she returns to Yogi Bhajan’s words of wisdom in The Teachings of Yogi Bhajan.

Using pranayama, kriya, meditation, and gong relaxation in her classes, Cyndi works to release stored negative experience and helps students align with their highest Self. She is inspired by the students who grace her classes, by each new face and each loyal regular who keeps her searching Yogi Bhajan’s teachings to find that special bit that will resonate and help elevate the energy of the class.

Cyndi loves yoga because it works. Yoga is a complete mind-body-spirit experience that has transformed her life. She loves that every time she practices she moves beyond what she previously thought possible and that each style of yoga offers something useful for practice and for life. Being able to share this experience continues to enrich her life. Cyndi loves to see the glow on people’s faces after a great yoga experience and the happy chatter that flows in the room when people have really moved their energy and broken down the barriers that keep us from connecting and communicating authentically.

When she is not teaching Kundalini Yoga, Cyndi enjoys spending time with family and friends, trying out new recipes, tending her patio garden, and spoiling her beagle, Cassie.
