The practice of yoga has been a powerful force in Beth’s life since 1999. She was first amazed at the physical effects of an asana practice on the body, but has since learned that yoga goes much deeper—it has the power to transform not only our bodies, but also our habits, and therefore, our destiny.

“It all comes down to awareness. When we become aware of our patterns, physical or mental, then we can work to change them. That is the power of yoga. Whether you are challenging yourself to maintain a difficult asana or you are sitting with your breath, you are changing patterns.”

Beth has been teaching Hatha Yoga since 2004. She completed Yoga Yoga's 200-hour Hatha Yoga Teacher Training program in 2004 and her 500-hour training with the American Viniyoga Institute in 2009. She is grateful to her primary teachers, Gary Kraftsow and Mirka Scalco Kraftsow, who have made the study of yoga personal, accessible, and empowering.

Beth teaches Hatha, Hatha Flow, and Hatha Beginners Series classes at Yoga Yoga. Her classes have a meditative quality, and she emphasizes intention, encouraging students to turn off their critical minds and practice with sincerity. “Be good to your body. Yoga is not a competitive practice. Every day is different. Listen. Be aware.” With focus on the breath and an emphasis on the spine, students in Beth’s classes are encouraged to practice at their own breath pace and comfort level, offering a challenge, but guiding students to modify poses to suit their own needs.

Beth’s interests include the study of anatomy and kinesiology as they relate to yogasana, as well as the power of yoga to alleviate back pain since her own experience with severe low back pain and migraines is what brought her to yoga. She is eternally grateful for yoga’s healing power in her own life.

Beth has studied many forms of yoga with many master teachers, including Viniyoga with Gary and Mirka, Vinyasa Krama with Srivatsa Ramaswami, Hatha with Donna Farhi, Anusara with John Friend, Iyengar with Devon Dederich and Peggy Kelly, and Ayurveda with Robert Svoboda. She is also fortunate to have studied under Sadani, Yoga Yoga’s own Viniyoga Therapist.
