Women's
Hatha Flow and Yin Yoga Retreat with Jenn Wooten
August 8-10, 2008
Margaret Austin Center
Join
us at the lovely Margaret Austin Center in Chappell Hill, Texas as we
explore the relationship between yin feminine energy and yang masculine
energy as it relates to our yoga practice and to our lives. Find the
balance between inspiration and effort, surrender and strength in this
empowering and healing weekend.
To
tap into the yang, we will practice Hatha flow - a dynamic and creative
practice with a focus on fluid strength, endurance and grace. To balance,
our Yin practice will work deeply into connective tissue to increase flexibility,
mobilize joints and release long held tension and trauma. Hatha Flow and
Yin yoga are the ideal complement to each other to bring physical, emotional
and spiritual harmony.
Combined,
both styles unite to balance the physical, energetic and mental aspect
of our being so that we feel replenished, rejuvenated, and open. We will
explore pranayama techniques to invigorate and alternately to relax the
nervous system, Yoga Nidra (yogic relaxation), daily self-care techniques
and group discussion on balancing our yin and yang aspects on and off
the yoga mat.
Some
prior yoga experience recommended, but all levels welcome.
Please
plan to arrive at the Margaret Austin Center Friday at 4pm. Departure
will be after brunch on Sunday.
Cost:
$299 ($339 after July 1)
About
Jenn
Jenn's
yoga roots lie in both Ashtanga and Iyengar Yoga. She draws from these
and other lineages to teach a Vinyasa Flow Yoga style that cultivates
grace, freedom, fun and loving-kindness. Her classes focus on the
process over the poses and the importance of discovering our inner
teacher and our own authentic expression of yoga.
Her
yoga practice and her family are the glue that hold her life together
and she is deeply grateful for both. She is E-RYT certified at the
200 hour level and has taught more than 1,500 class hours in Thailand,
Venezuela, Mexico and the U.S.
