In
this training for teaching yoga to children, you will learn the
guidelines for teaching yoga classes to children of all ages including
yoga exercises, meditations, yoga songs and games, yoga in motion
movements (including games and dances). Special need children issues
will also be addressed, including autism, ADD, and SPD.
The
Radiant Child is the child who is self-aware, who honors the spirit
of all, and is naturally dedicated to creating a world of peace.
Yoga is a holistic, practical tool toward that end. RCYP participants
often include yoga teachers of all traditions, schoolteachers, pediatric
therapists, parents and grand- parents. Previous yoga experience
is helpful, although not required. Participants gain a wide variety
of practical yoga tools and tips, and have fun playing at being
a child again.

this 30-hour course, you will learn about:
- Guidelines
for teaching children of all ages from babies to teens
- Yoga
songs and games that children love
- Exploring
a variety of meditation practices: using breath, singing, movement,
and silence.
- Brain-balancing
yoga and Brain Gym skills
- Yoga
in Motion movements, games, and dances that children love.

tips for keeping the class focused and engaged

practices/meditation with children
- Using
yoga sets with children
- Keeping
yourself centered when working with children
- Powerful
yoga and meditation for you as the teacher
- Practical
tools for any situation that arises when working with children
- Setting
up children's yoga business/classes
- Yoga
for ADD, Autism, SPD
- Adapting
yoga for schools
- Development
of children's energy field and chakras
- Yogic
teachings about children, including the four phases of a child's life
The
course is approximately 50% lecture and 50% practice, and is serious fun!
There is plenty of time for sharing knowledge and networking with others,
as well as time
to collaborate with others to create a unique yoga presentation based
on what you've learned in the course!
Graduates are awarded a certificate as a Radiant Child Yoga instructor
by Shakta Kaur Khalsa.

Shakta Kaur

Shakta Kaur Khalsa has been practicing and teaching yoga for over
three decades. She is a certified Kundalini Yoga instructor and an
AMS certified Montessori educator. She began teaching children yoga
in 1976 and incorporated yoga and meditation in her work as a Montessori
teacher. She developed the Radiant Child Yoga Program and has trained
thousands of children's yoga teachers around the world. Shakta is
the author of Fly Like a Butterfly: Yoga for Children, as well
