An Introduction to Ayurvedic Yoga
Friday November 14, 6:30pm - 8:30pm

Get a taste of yoga from an Ayurvedic perspective through discussion and a practice that will explore the fundamental principles of Ayurvedic yoga. Experience a practice tailored to your specific constitution rather than a "one practice fits all". Included will be an overview of the weekend offerings as well as resources where you can learn more about Ayurveda.

Ayurvedic Yoga for Your Body Type
Saturday November 15, 12:00pm - 2:30pm

Discover your body constitutional type (dosha) with a simple and fun test (link available online). Learn about your state of balance (prakruti) and your state out of balance (vikruti). Learn how to apply your yoga practice to help keep your doshas in balance.

Ayurvedic Yoga for the Fall
Saturday November 15, 3:30pm - 6:00pm

Along with the beauty of autumn come the conditions of wind, cold and dryness - qualities that aggravate vata dosha (the constitution made up of air and ether elements combined). Learn how to protect the internal environment during seasonal change by cultivating grounding, stabilizing, warming, fluid asana practices that assist vata in making a smooth seasonal transition. You will also learn about diet and lifestyle recommendations to support you this time of year.

The Five Pranas for Healing
Sunday November 16, 12:00pm - 2:30pm

The five pranas are the inner winds of circulation that move our life force. Physical, emotional and mental obstruction can prevent the free-flow of these winds, creating imbalance in the system on all levels. Learn how to work with the five pranas through movement (asana), breath and sound, and access the pranic healing within yourself!

Yoga Therapy: Your Vital Energy Points
Sunday November 16, 3:30pm - 6:00pm

Learn about the vital energy points in your body (marma points) and how they can be used to balance your doshas and enhance the movement of energy (prana) in your body. You will learn how these points are specifically used in yoga therapy as well as which yoga poses and practices activate your vital energy points.

Michele Schulz
brings over a decade of yoga studies and instruction in Ayuryoga, Kundalini, Iyengar, Tibetan and Yin Yoga. Her personal studies in Ayurveda, Breema Bodywork and Tibetan Buddhism infuse her approach to embodying yoga. She is a visiting teacher from the Ayurvedic Institute in Albuquerque, New Mexico where she has conducted trainings in applying Ayurvedic principles to the practice of yoga.
