 In ancient India, the yogis used Vedic Astrology or Jyotish, the Science of Light, in combination with the teachings of Yoga and the healing science of Ayurveda to help their students in their practice and transformation.
In this training, you will learn about the relationship between yoga, jyotish, and ayurveda and their applications for the yoga student and teacher. You will examine the birth charts of well-known individuals, as well as your own provided chart, to learn how Vedic Astrology works with the principles of Yoga and Ayurveda.
Topics
include:
- The sister sciences of Yoga, Astrology and Ayurveda
- Using mantra, mudra, pranayama and meditation for healing
- Disease factors in Vedic Astrology
- How the planets influence consciousness and health
- The relationship of the planets to the chakras
- Astrological and Ayurvedic remedial measures
- Developing a personal practice based on your astrological and ayurvedic constitution
This
is more than simply a basic or how to introductory course. Students from
all backgrounds and interest levels will discover new insights about themselves
as we delve into the mystery and magic of Jyotish, the Science of Light.

Prerequisites:
Some familiarity with Ayurveda and Vedic Astrology is helpful, either through workshops or readings. Suggested reading includes Yoga and Ayuveda and Ayurvedic Astrology, both by David Frawley as well as Ayuveda: Life, Health and Longevity by Robert Svoboda.
Hours
completed in this course may be counted as certification hours for becoming
a Vedic Astrologer.
