Ayurveda and Yoga Psychology
A six-week special series with Craig Williams

June 2 - July 7 at Yoga Yoga North

Ayurveda and Yoga are two closely related sister sciences rooted in the Vedic tradition of India. From an Eastern perspective, Ayurveda is the science of healing the body and mind while Yoga is the science of Self-realization.

The definition of health (or svastha) in Ayurveda is not solely the absence of disease. Ayurveda encompasses all aspects of a person's life: body, mind, and spirit. Unfortunately, the Western perception of ayurveda is often very narrow and misunderstood, much like the perception that Yoga is merely physical exercise. Both Ayurveda and Yoga envision the human being as a multi-layered expression of consciousness and seek to heal or restore balance at levels much deeper than just the physical.

In this series, we will examine how Ayurveda and Yoga view health, and explore therapies of both systems which target the root of all disease - the Mind and Consciousness. We will explore ways to harmonize our daily lives with the rhythm of the Universe, and explore ways to heal our bodies and minds to prepare ourselves for deeper spiritual practices.

This six week series meets from 7:30-9:00pm on the following dates:
June 2, June 9, June 16, June 23, June 30, July 7
Cost: $149
