YOGA YOGA LAUNCHES SPEAKER SERIES TO EDCUATE HEALTH
AND WELLNESS PRACTITIONERS ABOUT YOGA
"The Science of Yoga: A Resource for Health and Wellness Practitioners"
is a new speaker series at Yoga Yoga aimed at educating health and wellness
practitioners about the science and value of yoga. The series, which features
experts in the health and wellness fields, will focus on the latest research
studies regarding yoga and will address practical applications of yoga for conventional,
alternative, and complementary medicine providers. In addition, speakers will
discuss the science of yoga and how, as a result, yoga benefits the mind and
body.
The first event entitled "Yoga Mind, Clinical Mind: The Use of Yoga
in Therapeutic Settings" will feature guest speaker Gurucharan Singh
Khalsa, Ph.D., one of the nation's foremost researchers in yoga and meditation,
at 6 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 13 at Yoga Yoga Westgate, 4477 South Lamar. The 45-presentation
designed especially for psychotherapists will address yoga as a therapeutic
modality for therapists. At the event, Gurucharan will present and hand out
an extract from his forthcoming book, which consists of contributions from therapists
and researchers in the field of yoga. This is an invitation-only event. Those

About Gurucharan Singh Khalsa, Ph.D.
Gurucharan Khalsa, a licensed professional psychological counselor, is a widely
recognized expert and pioneer in the application of Kundalini yoga and meditation
for excellence in physical and mental health and for top performance in individuals.
He speaks and writes on the use of these techniques for therapists, health care
providers, and organizations such as Microsoft Corporation, Harvard Medical
School, Wellesley College, and the Massachusetts Society for Respiratory Care.
