For Immediate Release
Indian Yoga Master: Ramaswami
July 28, 2006

YOGA YOGA HOSTS INDIAN YOGA MASTER FOR 16 DAYS IN SEPTEMBER
Wide range of events planned for Srivatsa Ramaswami to share knowledge with the community

Austin, Texas - (August 2, 2006) Yoga Yoga will host Indian Yoga master Srivatsa Ramaswami from September 8-24 for The Art of Yoga, a 16-day exploration when Ramaswami will impart the age-old knowledge of a complete yoga practice. Events, some of which are free, include a book signing and lecture, a traditional sun salutation practice at a local park, intensive workshops, trainings, and specialized classes in yoga practice, meditation, and philosophy.

"This is a rare opportunity for Americans to experience the full range of yoga as taught by a master teacher from India," explains Mehtab Benton, founder of Yoga Yoga and director of its teacher training programs. "The majority of yoga practiced throughout the world today came from the teacher who trained Ramaswami and Austin has been given the privilege to experience yoga in the purest form. Yoga Yoga is honored to host a genuine Yoga Master."

Beginning at the age of 15 and continuing for more than 30 years, Ramaswami was a student of Sri T. Krishnamacharya, who is recognized as the most significant influence in imparting authentic knowledge about yoga in the last 50 years. Ramaswami, who has taught yoga worldwide for over 20 years, is the author of several books, including his latest with co-author David Hurwitz Yoga Beneath the Surface: An American Student & His Indian Teacher Discuss Yoga Philosophy and Practice. He has recorded 40 audiocassettes and CDs of Sanskrit chants, which are held as the gold standard for the sutras in India.

A total of 18 events with Ramaswami are planned for his Austin visit. Among the free activities are a lecture at 6 p.m. and a book signing at 8:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 8 at Yoga Yoga Westsgate, 4477 South Lamar, and a traditional sun salutation class at a local park on Sunday, Sept. 10 at sunrise. Ramaswami will lead a special five-day Vinyasakrama training course for yoga teachers and experienced students Sept. 15-19 at Yoga Yoga Westgate, 4477 South Lamar. In this 30-hour classical certification- training program, Ramaswami will teach the 500 movements or vinyasas contained in the 10 classical sequences as taught to him directly by Krishnamacharya. The fee for this course is $495.

A special package price for admission to all 18 events with Ramaswami is $895 or a special weekend pass can be purchased for $125. Individual class and event prices vary. For a complete schedule of events and details, visit www.yogayoga.com or call (512) 358-1200.
