Yoga Yoga Hosts Internationally Renowned Teacher Nischala Joy Devi

A Weekend of Health and Healing through Yoga, February 22-24 at Yoga Yoga Westgate

Austin, Texas - (February 12, 2008) Nischala Joy Devi, who offered her expertise in developing the yoga portion of The Dean Ornish Program for Reversing Heart Disease, will share information about Yoga and its subtle uses for spiritual growth and complete healing during a weekend of events at Yoga Yoga Westgate, 4477 South Lamar, on February 22-24, 2008. In addition to a free book signing and lecture, the weekend includes classes on yoga techniques and philosophy to rejuvenate and heal and a workshop about how yoga affects the heart physically, emotionally and spiritually. There is also a workshop for participants who want to learn the basic theory of Chakras (energy vortices) and how to channel this energy.

For over 30 years, Nischala Joy Devi has traveled the world presenting the timeless teachings of Yoga. She was graced to spend over 25 years as a monastic disciple with the world renowned Yogiraj Sri Swami Satchidanandaji, receiving his direct guidance and teachings. Her landmark research with Dr. Dean Ornish, adapting Yoga for heart disease and cancer patients, culminated in the internationally recognized Yoga of the Heart training for teachers and health care professionals. Her book, The Healing Path of Yoga, is regarded as the definitive guide to the subtle use of body and mind in healing and stress management. Her most recent book, The Secret Power of Yoga, is an interpretation of the Yoga Sutras intended for women.
