YOU 'CAN DO GOOD' AT YOGA YOGA'S SECOND ANNUAL HOLIDAY BAZAAR
Canned Food Item Admits Students to Free Yoga Classes during Holiday Bazaar
Saturday, November 27
Austin, Texas - (October 13, 2004) Free yoga classes will be offered to students
who donate a canned food item at Yoga Yoga Westgate, 4477 South Lamar, on Saturday,
November 27 as part of the studio's second annual Holiday Gift Bazaar. The food
drive will benefit the Capital Area Food Bank. Free classes will be offered
at noon (Hatha* and Kundalini*), 1:30 p.m.(Hatha*), 3 p.m.(Hatha Flow) and 4:30
p.m.(Restorative*). Classes with an asterisk are beginner friendly. Students
are encouraged to arrive early as space is limited and available on a first
come, first serve basis.
"Donating a food item to the Capital Area Food Bank in exchange for a
yoga class allows our students to serve the community while doing something
good for themselves," says Jamie Hodge, outreach coordinator at Yoga Yoga.
"It is not widely known but community service is considered one of the
classic practices of yogic self-discipline. In the spirit of selfless service,
we invite everyone, especially people who are new to yoga, to try a free class
with us on Nov. 27 and get in the spirit of giving by making a donation to the
Capital Area Food Bank."
In addition to free yoga classes and the food drive, the Holiday Gift Bazaar
features handmade items by Yoga Yoga students, staff, and teachers, including
jewelry, candles, paintings, soaps, body mists, purses, and other unique products.
Also, participants can enjoy live music from 4:30 until 6 p.m. Bazaar hours
are from 1 p.m. until 6 p.m. This event is free and open to the public. For
more information, call Yoga Yoga Westgate at 358-1200.
