Being “tight” isn’t necessarily a bad thing. When you are excessively stable, you can use your own strength to safely lengthen your muscles. In this workshop from 2 - 4:30 pm, you will learn how Anusara Yoga's elegant Principles of Alignment can help you discover more freedom in your legs, hips and shoulders in a variety of yoga poses. We may even use your natural strength to learn how to safely go upside down! You'll leave feeling more flexible in your mind and body so that you are encouraged to practice yoga more and more.

Kim S.

Kim graduated from Yoga Yoga’s 200-hour Hatha Teacher Training program in 2006 and has since been immersed in the heart-centered practice of Anusara Yoga. She has completed a 108-hour Immersion and two Level I and Level II Anusara teacher trainings with certified Anusara teacher Christina Sell. She has studied Yoga Therapeutics with Noah Maze and Desiree Rumbaugh and has taken several workshops with Anusara Yoga founder John Friend. Kim is an Anusara Inspired® teacher and is working toward becoming a Certified Anusara® Yoga teacher. In addition to her Anusara Yoga teachers, Kim has studied Restorative Yoga with Judith Hanson Lasater, taken workshops with Donna Farhi, Seane Corn and Jonny Kest, and has studied Ayurvedic principles with Robert Svoboda and Craig Williams.

Kim’s is also inspired by her personal spiritual practice. The deep knowing that practicing yoga is one way to connect with her higher self keeps her asana practice and teaching fresh and interesting. “What will I discover today? Because yoga creates such a space of love and acceptance, I am able to really see where my mind is holding me back when I practice. From this understanding I am able to break the barriers of my mind and truly feel my spirit soar.” Kim finds that after a spiritual or physical practice, her inner and outer bodies feel more balanced, calm and centered.
