As you prepare for the birth of your baby, find the support of our pre-natal community. Join Alice Duffy, Registered Yoga Teacher and sought after local doula for an invaluable afternoon to share with your birthing partner. This course is recommended to be taken between 27 weeks and 36 weeks, however this is just a suggestion. Couples are welcome any time.
This fun and experiential three hour class will take you through yoga postures, labor and birth positions and other yogic techniques you can use during the stages of labor. Each stage will be discussed (Early Labor, Active Labor, Transition, Pushing and Post-birth) and each couple will leave with invaluable handouts.
Partners will learn specific breath and sound techniques as well as guided relaxation techniques. There will be time for questions, sharing, and the opportunity to interact with other expectant parents. This special event draws many couples, as mothers spread the word to each other. Mark your calendar and tell your expecting friends! It will be a perfect addition to your other birthing classes.

What Past Students Have Said:
"We are having our second child. The information provided in this class was extremely helpful in regards to preparing for the pregnancy. My wife experienced severe back labor during delivery of our first child; many of the different positions discussed during this class should help a lot with the second delivery. Also, it really helped to get into that mind set, that we are going to deliver a baby."
"I especially found helpful the pain coping meditations. It was great that my husband was able to experience first hand what I have been learning through Alice's classes...and starting the thinking process of how he can assist me to cope with the pain."
"This was a very helpful class. I really appreciated the partner-bonding exercises and I think it gave my husband a lot of good information for how to be supportive at the birth, in addition to coping exercises for me. I also really appreciated the attention Alice paid to how it can be difficult to be a support person at a birth and what emotions he will be going through. And I loved her "prize-fighter" analogy! I will definitely carry that with me."
Alice found her way to yoga in 2000 practicing both Kundalini and Hatha styles. She found that it helped her calm her mind and emotions as well as strengthen her physical body. Alice became a registered yoga teacher in 2003 after attending Yoga Yoga Teacher Training. Since then Alice has passionately continued to deepen her understanding and knowledge of yoga through her own practice and by studying with a range of knowledgeable teachers. Alice is a certified doula with ALACE.
Alice's teaching is greatly influenced and informed by Gary Kraftsow, Gurucharan and Donna Farhi, as well as her own experience and practice. Alice has a great passion for working with and teaching women. In her Prenatal and Postnatal classes she places an emphasis on the needs of the student as an individual. Alice also has a gift for working with beginners and uses this gift when teaching her Kundalini Foundation Series. Alice also teaches Hatha, Restorative, and Children's yoga.
