Yoga has the power to change how we feel, how we act and think, how we respond to situations and create our relationships. When we understand and apply principles and practices of yoga, we respond to difficult situations in ways that reduce suffering.

Yoga is a complete system of techniques and principles that are meant to be applied every day, moment by moment, in real-life situations. The power of a regular yoga practice (asana, pranayama, meditation) to transform us at every level is amplified many times over when we understand the principles underlying the practice. It puts the practices in the context of our daily lives and shows us how to thrive moment to moment.

Chase Bossart is an expert at distilling these important teachings to their essence, and opening new doors for students and teachers to have a deeper relationship to their personal practice and teaching.  Over the course of the weekend, join Chase in exploring the teachings of the Yoga Sutras to deepen your understanding and practice of Yoga.

Each section contains discussion, a gentle led practice and time for questions and reflection.

Yoga is powerfully transformative on a daily level. Yoga refines the mind, clears negative emotions, creates positive habits and behaviors, and improves our relationships, bringing forth profound spiritual experiences. Through regular practice, we can acquire the ability to focus the mind and to maintain that focus despite the presence of distraction. The result is increased clarity, better decision making, and our becoming true to ourselves in word and deed.

The Yoga Sutra’s provide insight on who we are, how we are all connected, and how to achieve the state of Yoga.  The Sutras describe, and we will explore, how to bring the mind from a state of distraction to a state of attention. Chase will teach on the tools to help us have more clarity and make better decisions on a daily basis.  Clean your personal lens, make the effort, and be willing to let go of what does not serve you on your path.

Applying Yoga to Daily Life

February 26, 2012 10:30 AM - 6:00 PM
Standard price:
$135.00
Register online

Class will meet from 10:30 am - 1:30 pm & 3 - 6 pm.

The Yoga Sutra’s describe how to create new patterns of behavior and how to move from absolute unfamiliarity to complete mastery of a skill.  A special few are actually born into a state of Yoga, but the rest of us must make the effort and do the daily practices to move towards this state.  It is impossible to avoid getting sick, depressed or having doubt, however, whether these are obstacles depends on  the state of our body, mind and emotions.  Chase will expand on the 9 kinds of obstacles identified in the Yoga Sutra’s, and you will learn if these are causes of suffering for you.  These lessons are enlightening and extremely practical for us all!
