 Sadani
Sadani established the Yoga Center of Lake Charles, Louisiana in January of 1998, the same date that Yoga Yoga was founded in Austin. The Yoga Center of Lake Charles continues to serve the people of that area. After leaving Louisiana, Sadani served as a karma yogi at Mount Madonna Center, a California yoga ashram founded by Baba Hari Das. She did a full year of volunteer work there, supporting those who came to Mount Madonna Center for transformation and healing work. In 2006, Sadani joined the staff of Yoga Yoga Teacher Training. Here, she participates in yoga teacher training programming, teaches teachers-in-training, and teaches public classes in Hatha, Meditation, and Private Yoga Therapy.
After studying and practicing varied forms of massage therapy and bodywork, Sadani was certified as a yoga teacher by Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health and by the American Viniyoga Institute. She is also certified by American Viniyoga Institute as a yoga therapist.
Sadani came to yoga seeking relief for the physical, emotional, and spiritual pain she had lived with for years. Through the study of yoga and massage therapy, linked with personal psychotherapy work she experienced a personal transformation and healing.
Sadani loves to teach those who want to deepen their yoga practice, experience the subtleties of yoga, and are interested in teaching yoga. In her classes Sadani skillfully calls student’s attention to the subtle details of the body and breath. In every class and with every student Sadani provides individual adaptations to postures, to make practicing yoga accessible and safe. Sadani encourages integrated experience by linking breath with movement, and using sound/chanting, pranayama, meditation, and personal ritual.
All students can use yogic tools for self-realization. In every class, whether group or private, Sadani adapts for the needs of the students, from gentle to strong, beginners to experienced practitioners. She has a particular interest in private yoga therapy, where the intention is to meet the student where they are, improve the quality of student’s life, help them learn to manage their situation more effectively and increase their overall sense of well-being.
Sadani maintains a personal daily yoga practice (a major tool in her life toolbox) and she encourages others to do the same. "My yoga practice informs my teaching, helps me with balance, wellness, and awareness. It supports me in optimal health and spiritual awakening." She keeps her personal practice interesting by exploring all the yogic tools to connect with the pranic flow and prepare for seated meditation. "Most importantly, I listen, observe, feel, and respond to prana. Then I follow the pulse of energy flowing through me. I don't do a practice, the practice does me."
Sadani loves to dance, swim, hike, read, listen to music, and spend time with her family and friends. Sadani has four beautiful adult children and five adored grandchildren, ages 17 to 4 years old, who are the light and joy of her life.
