 Jodi F (Mandeep)
“Healing lies within.” These are words Mandeep (Jodi) stresses to her students, her clients and to herself.
Jodi began her yoga journey in 2003 after being moved by a guest lecturer in her graduate program who spoke on the therapeutic applications of yoga. Since then Jodi has experienced yoga transformations in all areas of her life. Through her personal practice, Jodi has lessened her physical pain, developed effective coping mechanisms for being in the world, strengthened her awareness and created internal balance.
Under the advice of Gurucharan Singh Khalsa, Jodi began integrating yoga techniques into her counseling sessions in 2005. She noticed a profound shift in her clients’ relationships to their problems, their loved ones and most importantly to themselves.
Wanting to deepen her knowledge and practice, Jodi completed Yoga Yoga's Kundalini Yoga Teacher Training program in 2008. She then obtained her Pre- and Postnatal Yoga certification with Leslie Lytle of OmMama, and in 2009 with her husband earned her Hatha certification, the joint experience of which she continues to treasure. Knowing that she is a student for life, Jodi continues deepening her own awareness and instruction through ongoing Kundalini Level Two yoga development.
Jodi’s instruction is influenced by Deva Powell, Siri Bahadur, Gurmukh, Leslie Lytle and Keith Kachtick. In addition to her countless teachers, she also receives inspiration from real world events and, of course, her students.
Her Kundalini Yoga classes focus on utilizing breath and movement to mindfully bring about ease in the face of challenge. She provides students a way to carry what they have learned from class into life.
A trained Birthing from Within childbirth educator and doula, Jodi’s Prenatal yoga classes provide expecting mothers the opportunity to connect with their inner strength and peace. She loves sharing with women the beauty of pregnancy and birth, and ultimately developing a true union with their little ones. She draws from her education in various lineages and helps prepare students for wellness through pregnancy and beyond.
With gratitude and an open heart she delights in teaching, serving and integrating yoga (the aspect of union) into life.
