What is Kundalini?
Kundalini Yoga is a dynamic form of yoga that awakens awareness.
It uses sets of yogic postures and movements (asana) with meditative focus, breath work (pranayama), and chanting (mantra). In addition to strengthening the health and well-being of the physical body, it is very useful for emotional balance, mental clarity, stress relief, and personal transformation.
Kundalini Yoga is the original and most powerful system of yoga. It can be practiced by anyone if it is done according to instructions and within the tradition in which it was originally taught.
The word "Kundalini" means awareness. In yogic tradition, Kundalini is the latent spiritual energy within every person that can be awakened by the practice of yoga.
We offer the following types of Kundalini Classes:
Kundalini Star *
Kundalini Star classes focus on helping new students understand the intentions and benefits of Kundalini yoga, while enjoying a class that is welcoming to beginners and helpful for experienced yogis with a desire to focus on the foundations. Appropriate for all abilities.
Kundalini Yoga
Kundalini Yoga uses breath, movement and focus to energize the body while strengthening and balancing the immune and glandular systems. Dynamic classes promote emotional well-being, mental clarity and stress relief. Appropriate for all abilities.
Kundalini of Sound
Kundalini of Sound classes are Kundalini yoga classes where "sound" is incorporated as a integral part of the class through sets that emphasize use of sound and mantra, meditations that involve use of mantra (aloud as well as silent) and always end with a gong relaxation.
Kundalini and Meditation
Kundalini and Meditation are Kundalini classes that focus on the meditative sets offered in Kundalini yoga with an extended time period allotted for meditations (11min, 22min or even 31min depending on the practice level of the students in the room).
