Yoga
@ Your Desk
The
shoulder is a complex joint, and the part of the body that bears
the brunt of a day spent sitting at your desk. A few minutes of
simple shoulder rolls can ease the tension that builds up in the
shoulders and will also increase energy and clear the mind.
Take
a moment to renew your mind and body during the day for increased
comfort, ease, and productivity.

Shoulder
Rolls
An awareness of the breath is key in practicing yoga and will
enhance the positive effects of this simple exercise.
- Sit
in a comfortable upright position a little bit back from
your desk and rest your feet evenly on the floor.
- Start
by bringing your shoulders down and forward. Pause.
- Inhale
as you raise the shoulders forward and up and then bring
them to the center by the ears. Pause.
- Exhale
and bring the shoulders down and back, pulling the shoulder
blades together. Pause again at the bottom.
- Inhale
as you roll the shoulders forward and up toward the ears
again.
- Repeat
ten or more times. You can do this exercise with both shoulders
at the same time or alternate the right and left shoulders.

Yoga Private Instruction
The
study of yoga originated with the teacher instructing a single student,
and lessons were personalized to meet the student's needs. At Yoga
Yoga, we value the importance of one-on-one instruction. Each of
our studios has a special room designed for private instruction,
so students can get the attention they need.
You
can take a private class with your favorite teacher, or we can suggest
a match for you based on what you hope to get out of private instruction.
Private yoga instruction is a great tool to develop your practice,
whether you are new to yoga or an advanced student.
Personal
instruction gives new yoga students a solid foundation that paves
the way for a lifetime of safe practice. Students in private instruction
have the opportunity to ask questions and learn modifications for
postures that will suit their range of motion.
Veteran
students can use private sessions to get guidance on postures that
challenge them, and go deeper into the advanced poses that may not
get much attention in a regular class.
Anyone
can use private lessons to help them create a home routine, or to
study yoga philosophy, meditation or breathing techniques.
For
those looking for healing, Yoga Yoga's self care privates will tailor
the practice of yoga to help address your symptoms, alleviate discomfort
and restore balance. For more information or to schedule a private
class, please contact Tori at privates@yogayoga.com.
