Module 2 and Internship

Module 2 and internship:

In Module 2, you will refine your skills and apply them to more complex health challenges. This module covers the following content:

  • The fundamentals of chronic illnesses such as heart disease, cancer and diabetes; disease symptoms, causes, concerns and allopathic treatment
  • Advanced yoga therapeutics application, and adaptations for chronic disease
  • The fundamentals of neurological conditions such as multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s and fibromyalgia causes, concerns and allopathic treatment
  • Advanced yoga therapeutics application and adaptations for neurological conditions
  • Working with clients presenting with multiple health issues
  • Applying advanced principles of yoga philosophy as the basis for assessment, planning, and delivery of yoga therapy
  • Advanced Ayurvedic principles for client care
  • Ethical principles for the therapist and client relationship
  • Pertinent psycho-emotional aspects of physical conditions, and their impact on the yoga therapy process
  • Social, cultural, and religious sensitivity while working with clients
  • Adaptive programs of study according to auditory, visual, or tactile learning styles
  • Building ongoing effective communication dynamics
  • Creating a supportive and healing environment for students experiencing life-threatening illnesses, trauma, or abuse
  • The science of behavior change and maximizing client success
  • Developing a consulting network with other yoga therapists and mentors
  • Best business practices for yoga therapists


All classes meet at Yoga Yoga North according to the following schedule:

  • Thursday 12:00pm-6:30pm with a 30-minute break
  • Friday & Saturday 9:30am-6:00pm with a 1-hour break
  • Sunday 9:00am-4:00pm with a 1-hour break

2018-2019 Schedule

  • Weekend 1: February 1-4, 2018
  • Weekend 2: April 12-15, 2018
  • Weekend 3: June 21-24, 2018
  • Weekend 4: September 13-16, 2018
  • Weekend 5: November 8-11, 2018
  • Weekend 6: January 17-20, 2019
  • Weekend 7: March 28-31, 2019


  • There will be a total of 112 hours of online modules delivered via 50 Zoom meetings ( over the course of Module 2. These online lessons will take place on Tuesday evenings from 4:00-6:00 pm, Central Standard Time. These online sessions will include all Yoga Therapy faculty, and help to integrate content covered during Module 2 and introduce new material.
  • Zoom is an interactive, online environment that feels very much like an in-person class. Participants are able to see and interact with everyone attending the class, including raising your hand, asking verbal questions, and sending written messages/chats to others. Participants are asked to arrange their schedule so that they can be present, relaxed, focused, and able to fully participate in these classes.
  • Each class will be recorded and available for viewing up to 45 days after the class in the event that a participant is not able to attend in real time.
  • The Online Module begins Tuesday, February 13th, 2018.
