The practice must be adapted to the individual
Interview with Leslie Kaminoff: "The practice must be adapted to the individual"
Leslie Kaminoff is a yoga educator inspired by the tradition of T.K.V. Desikachar. He is recognized internationally as a specialist in the fields of yoga, breath anatomy and bodywork. For over three decades he has led workshops and developed specialized education for many leading yoga associations, schools and training programs in America and throughout the world. His approach to teaching combines intellectual rigor, spontaneity, and humor, and is always evolving.
I love this interview because it gives a sense of who Leslie is as a teacher and a person and what inspires him.
You learn about his start in the yoga world as a Swami living in L.A. in the ‘80’s into his introduction to TKV Desikachar, his most influential yoga teacher, and his subsequent training in anatomy, bodywork, and sports medicine. You get his perspective on the usefulness of yoga-”it is useful to everyone who is breathing” as well as his perspective on yoga as a spiritual practice. Leslie will be with us at Yoga Yoga in April and we can’t wait to see you there!
