Dylan's birth story by Krista
Born
on December 27

Dylan’s birth story starts with the birth of my daughter, Kyla. She was born via c-section due to fetal distress. I never felt cheated or regretful regarding her birth, just thankful for a healthy child and modern medicine. When I got pregnant with my 2nd child, I knew I wanted to consider a VBAC (vaginal birth after c-section) versus a repeat c-section. I wanted to have the experience of birthing vaginally. I wanted to know what it was like to physically birth my child and hold him right after.

Compassion by Ravyn A

You don't have to be an expert to practice meditation. As a mother, whether you are pregnant or have a new baby, taking just a few moments in any day to connect (to your self and your growing baby) is a beautiful and healthy practice.

Motherhood is as fraught with challenges as it is steeped in joy. The challenge of being needed so completely day and night as well as the pressure of making decisions for your baby's physical, emotional and spiritual growth can be overwhelming. Part of parenting is learning that you cannot be perfect all the time!

So this month's meditation is about generating compassion for the human condition, for motherhood's ups and downs, for our mistakes and our successes.
